That was the beginning of a life altering change for me. You see, photographers normally don’t share their secrets’… but over the past three years Nichole has opened her business, her home and her heart to me. With her help I have built a business that I’m very proud of. She has helped me avoid many of the struggles that new business owns experience & she has helped me grow as a photographer.
If you’re a photographer I encourage you to become a mentor to someone that needs your help. We all benefit from one another.
Okay on to the beautiful wedding of Jamie & Joe at the Sheldon Chapel in Yemassee South Carolina.
Jamie & Joe have a deep passion for Civil War history so it was fitting that the Sheldon Chapel also know as the “chapel of ease” played a roll in our nations history books. The original building was built in 1832 so that worshipers would not have to travel in the hot South Carolina summers to the formal parish church at Sheldon, now know as Old Sheldon Church Ruins. During the Civil War, members of the Confederation Army converted the chapel into a hospital for smallpox patients. General Sherman’s troops destroyed the original building in 1865. It was rebuilt to its present modest form in 1898.
The couple’s reception site at Richfield Plantation was built in 1875 by John White Gregorie and has been beautifully restored by his great-great-grandsons. The plantation is situated within the little community of McPhersonville, just outside of Yemassee. The grounds are surrounded by majestic oaks and are a masterpiece and silent spokesman of history brought into modern day.
The three uniform buttons on Jamie’s bouquet are treasures that Joe has found during Civil War Reenactments’.
Best Wishes!
